Adalyn's First Camping Trip
We recently met up with a few of our good friends for a camp trip close to home. We decided to take Adalyn along with us to give camping a try. We drove about 45 minutes south on 101 to a place called Coyote Lakes right outside Gilroy. When we first got there it was really foggy/overcast but as the day wore on it cleared up and we had a nice view of the lake. As we set up camp we put Addy in her very own play tent to keep her out of the sun and it worked well so that we didn't have to hold onto her the entire trip. We played Off-Road Boccie Ball in the dirt which was awesome and we pushed Addy back and forth in her stroller while we played. We ended up taking a walk through the campsites and got really close to a bunch of deer and hogs. Overall it was a very nice and enjoyable trip although the sleeping needs some work on Adalyn's part as she hardly slept 2 hours that night. We have our fingers crossed for our next trip!

6 Month Check Up
Adalyn recently had her 6 month doctor visit so I figured I would update everyone :-) Addy now weighs 19 lbs 4 oz and is in the 57th percentile for her height and 95th for weight. Silly little porker! Just kidding. Anyways, her reflux has gotten worse so she started Zantac 3 times daily. So far it has seemed to help, but she still spits up regularly.
As far as milestones go, she is right on target developmentally. She has stopped scooting and has begun crawling! I put her down on the floor and walked into the kitchen to put a glass away, when I came back she had crawled towards the kitchen following me. We bought her a walker and she follows us around downstairs which is nice because she can see us. She has started to go from her hands and knees to a sitting position as well as pull herself up onto objects. Needless to say, we are in the process of baby proofing the house ;-)

Annual Red Lakes Trip
Every year we try to make one trip to Hope Valley where there are dozens of gorgeous hidden lakes. The last 2 years we have had some trouble making the trip because I was pregnant and because we had zero time. This year we finally made it up. After months of planning, we made the trip Labor Day weekend. We dropped Addy off at her Grandparent's house in El Dorado Hills (Trev's Dad and Step-Mom's place) and we continued on toward Kirkwood with the Jeep in tow. Our good friend's Patrick and Casey met us up there and grabbed a prime spot on the upper lake. It was beautiful as always up there, but the water was so low and there were so many dead trees. We set up camp and we learned that we couldn't have a fire because of all the dry weather. That night the temp dropped and we bundled up which was fine, but then the wind picked up and gusts were around 50 mph. We were awake most of the night and I was terrified that a dry tree would fall on our tent!
We got up bright and early the next morning and took the trucks out to explore the surrounding lakes. It was a bright and crisp day with the wind still gusting, but that didn't stop Diesel from swimming in the lakes. We actually found some new camp sites that I think we might check out on the next trip. All in all we had a great trip, but we missed Addy. We can't wait to head up again and bring her with us!

Adalyn's 1st Time in a Swing ;-)
I have been helping out a family with 2 little girls ages 5 1/2 and 3 1/2. They have a big play structure in the backyard with room for 3 swings. They were nice enough to take down one regular swing and put up a baby swing so that Addy could be outside and swing when the girls swing and play. Her first push was a little "iffy" but once we got her going she laughed the whole time. The girls' helped me push and Addy had a great time.

Auntie Michelle's Birthday Party
Adalyn had her first experience in a pool this past Saturday. Michelle had her birthday party down at the pool so Addy and I made an appearance. We slathered her up in sunscreen, put on a little swimmer diaper, then squeezed her into her bikini from Auntie Michelle. Unfortunately I think that was Adalyn's last time wearing the suit :-( We were told the pool was heated, but I'm pretty sure they dumped buckets of ice in it right before we got there because it was FREEZING! Michelle took Adalyn in the pool, but Addy had a hard time with the cold so she freaked out a bit. I then sat by the pool with her and she went in...hahaha...guess she just needed her mama. We also put together a little pool made out of a drink container filled with hot tub water and pool water. She looked so cute splashing around in her little pool!

Adalyn's 1st Lake Trip
My friend Ali and I have started taking our "kids" to Almaden Lake on Thursdays. I know it's kind of yucky there, but it's close to home and when you have a few kids that need something fun to do...it's a great place to take them! Adalyn enjoyed putting her feet in the water, but she wasn't too keen on the sand between her toes.
