Adalyn's 1st Lake Trip
My friend Ali and I have started taking our "kids" to Almaden Lake on Thursdays. I know it's kind of yucky there, but it's close to home and when you have a few kids that need something fun to do...it's a great place to take them! Adalyn enjoyed putting her feet in the water, but she wasn't too keen on the sand between her toes.

Hollister Hills 7/27/08
We just got back from house sitting for a family friend this last week so thats why we haven't updated our blog as of late. We figured out last week that Adalyn has started teething and boy has she been a super grumpy baby! Anyways, Trevor and I went back to Hollister Hills yesterday for a half day trip with some friends and Diesel Dog. We had a great time and we can't wait to go back again.

First Foods
Tonight Adalyn "tried" her first baby food! We stripped her down to her diaper and strapped her into her high chair. Daddy was on hand to help capture the event so off we went. At first she wasn't quite sure she wanted to eat the cereal, but as she got going we couldn't scoop it in fast enough! Once we got the rhythm down she calmed down and smiled as she ate. Here are some pictures of the event :-)
She didn't care for the high chair at first and yes those are real tears :-(

Her first bite and her eyes are still filled with tears!

Not so sure about the cereal...

Now she's getting into it!

Yummy!

She even fed herself ;-)

And then helped with clean up

Big Baby
So I took Adalyn to the doctor's last week for her 4 month check up(I know she's about 4.5 months old)and here are the specs on our huge baby! Addy weighed in at 15 lbs on the nose which is in the 55th percentile for weight and she came in at a whopping 26inches for height which is in the 96th percentile! The height also means we have to find a new car seat as she is technically out of her infant seat already :-( She was supposed to be in the infant seat for awhile, but because she is so long, she's very uncomfortable in the seat and screams when she's in it. We are looking into the Britax car seats because they are convertible from an infant rear facing seat to a toddler forward facing seat to a child's booster seat. Unfortunately they are super expensive so we are checking craigslist regularly for a discounted seat. Here are some pictures of our HUGE baby!

Hollister Hills
Trevor and I recently took a day trip to Hollister Hills to go 4wheeling with some friends. Trevor has been building up his 1988 4runner with full-width axles for quite some time now, but to this day it still needs a lot more work to be "wheel ready". A few months ago we purchased my parent's 96 Grand Cherokee and unfortunately it needed a lot of work done and a lot of parts replaced. We figured that if we replaced the bulk of the parts on it, they would be most of the same parts we would be replacing by putting a lift on and putting a lift on would be cheaper than buying factory parts. So we got a screaming deal on a lift and Trevor, Geoff, and Jamison spent a few days building the Jeep. We had our maiden voyage last weekend and it rocked! It was so nice to get out of the house and spend time on the trails again. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

Happy 4th of July!
We spent the 4th of July dog sitting for my parent's next door neighbors. My parent's street had a block party and we had a wonderful time celebrating with family, friends, and each other.

Happy Baby
Adalyn has become such a happy baby. We are so blessed that her reflux has gotten better and she is not as sick as she used to be. She has gotten away from screaming in pain when she spit up to smiling as she spits up. Her colic has subsided and she is finally sleeping through the night! Way to go Addy! Here are some pictures of her at 15 weeks old...Oh and she always smiles with her tongue out!
